16701 Florida Training Manager
This course is designed to demonstrate competencies of the Fire Instructor III related to the knowledge and ability to develop comprehensive training curricula and programs for single- or multiple organizations, conduct facility and organization needs analysis, design and manage record keeping and scheduling systems, and develop schedules, training goals, and implementation strategies. This will be accomplished through a review of Florida State Statute and Florida Administrative Code related to firefighting, fire prevention and arson as well as a review of the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training electronic data system known as FCDICE.

When does the course start and finish?
This is self paced learning course of 20 days duration. The course starts after you have purchased the course and accessed it for the first time.
How long do I have access to the course?
If the student does not complete the course with the 20-day access period, the course will be locked. Work and family issues do occur from time-to-time. The Professor/Instructor will make every reasonable accommodation for the student, but this arrangement is reciprocal.
Can I have face to face interaction with Instructor
Does this course have any certificates?
Yes, the certificates will be available to download from your student dashboard in the Achievements section once the course has been graded.
How many Continuing Education Units (CEUs) ?
24 CEUs are provided towards fire service instructor.
Your Instructor
Mathew Trent
Matt began his fire service career in 2006, serving as a Firefighter, Driver/Engineer, Lieutenant, and Operations Battalion Chief with Greater Naples Fire District. Matt now serves as the Assistant Chief of Training and Professional Standards for North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District.
Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and is pursuing a Doctor of Public Administration at Walden University. Additionally, he has been designated as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) by the Center for Professional Safety Excellence (CPSE) and Member Grade (MIFireE) by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
Matt is certified as a Fire Officer IV, Fire Code Administrator, Live Fire Training Instructor II, Fire Instructor III, Safety Officer, Fire Inspector II, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Investigator, and Pump Operator.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
