As a general rule, under the FLSA all hours during which an employee is required to be on the employer’s premises or at a prescribed workplace are included in the calculation of maximum hours. If the employer permits an employee to continue working after the scheduled hours are over, the time is considered compensable even though such additional time is not employer-mandated.
